Shanon Peake has been named a member of Smith Robinson, after five years with the law firm.
Her practice with the firm covers a wide range of civil litigation, including such areas as insurance defense, personal injury, insurance coverage, insurance fraud and governmental law. She has a vibrant appellate practice, representing clients in both state and federal courts.
She earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2016, and received her bachelor’s degree in international studies with a second major in English from the University of South Carolina in 2012, graduating magna cum laude.
“I’m excited and honored to take this next step with such an outstanding law firm, and I look forward to contributing to the firm’s continued success,” she said recently.
She joined Smith Robinson in April 2019. Before that, she clerked for the Honorable Paula H. Thomas of the South Carolina Court of Appeals and worked for that court as a staff attorney. She is a member of the South Carolina Bar, and is admitted to practice before all state courts, as well as the U.S. District Court of South Carolina and the U.S. 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.
For the past two years, South Carolina Super Lawyers named her to its “Rising Stars” list.
“Shanon has been doing a great job for her clients and for the firm,” said Jon Robinson, managing member. “We’re pleased and proud to see her assume this new role.”
Shanon grew up in Elgin and attended Lugoff-Elgin High School before attending the University of South Carolina. Her outside interests include writing, reading, traveling and pottery.
