Biography
Ryan J. Patane joined Smith Robinson in 2025 along with his former firm of D’Alberto, Graham & Grimsley. Ryan concentrates his practice on creditors’ rights, curative title services, and quiet title actions, representing clients across South Carolina. With a broad civil litigation background handling a variety of cases in state and federal courts, Ryan particularly enjoys helping clients understand complex issues and developing a practical roadmap – whether the solution is in or out of court.
Ryan graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and earning a minor in French. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor, also cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he served as an Articles Editor for the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Journal. After law school, Ryan was admitted to the South Carolina Supreme Court Bar. He is licensed to practice in South Carolina and is admitted to the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. In addition to his practice, Ryan also serves on the South Carolina Bar Resolution of Fee Disputes Board.
