Maya Weeks

Associate Attorney | Columbia

Maya Weeks is an associate attorney at Smith Robinson focusing her practice on general litigation.

Maya is a former law clerk for the South Carolina Judicial Branch where she assisted retired active Judges and court administration.  In this capacity, she traveled with judges to court in their respective counties, performed legal research, drafted memorandums, motions, and communicated with attorneys on the judge’s behalf.

Maya earned her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. While in law school, Maya was involved a variety of programs. She served as the Chair of the Black Law Student Association (BLSA) and worked in the Juvenile Justice Clinic where she gained valuable supervised experience in the representation of real clients.

Prior to law school, Maya obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice where she made the Dean’s List at the University of South Carolina Upstate. She went on to complete her Master of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice/Criminology from the University of South Carolina.

She is a resident of Columbia, SC where she volunteers her time with several community organizations, and continues to be a BSLA mentor.
