Biography

Jonathan M. Robinson is the managing member of SMITH | ROBINSON. Jon has represented clients in South Carolina state and federal courts and has successfully tried numerous cases to jury verdicts. He is also an active member of the community and serves in a number of leadership positions in both legal and community organizations.

Prior to the merger of SMITH | ROBINSON, Jon was the managing partner at his previous law firm, DuBose Robinson and Morgan, PC in Camden where he practiced from 2001 to 2019. AAfter graduation from the University of South Carolina School of Law, Jon clerked for The Honorable L. Henry McKellar, South Carolina Circuit Court Judge. During law school, Jon clerked for Gergel, Nickles, and Solomon. He also served on the executive staff of South Carolina Governor David M. Beasley.

Jon received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Carolina in 1997 and his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2000. He has served as president of the Kershaw County Bar Association and Chair of the South Carolina Commission on National and Community Service. Jon currently serves on the South Carolina Bar House of Delegates, the University of South Carolina Board of Visitors, and the Central Carolina Community Foundation Board. He is also a member of the Kershaw and Richland County Bar Associations, the SC Defense Trial Attorneys Association, Electric Cooperative Bar Association, and the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
