J. Alexander Hooks joined the firm focusing his practice in a wide variety of civil litigation, including insurance defense, personal injury, insurance coverage, governmental law and insurance fraud. Prior to joining the firm, Alex was an Assistant District Attorney in North Carolina. As an Assistant District Attorney, Alex prosecuted a range of criminal cases with a focus on motor vehicle offenses. He has successfully tried numerous cases to jury verdicts. Upon graduation from law school in 2013, he worked in private practice focusing on estate administration.
In 2010, Alex received a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Wofford College. In 2013, Alex received his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. During law school, he clerked for the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Office of the District Attorney in New Hanover County, North Carolina.
Alex is licensed to practice in South Carolina and North Carolina. He is a member of the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorney Association.
