Biography

Austin T. Reed is an associate attorney at SMITH | ROBINSON. Austin earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2016. During law school, he received CALI Awards in Contracts, Property, Patents, Criminal Procedure, Coastal Law, Insurance, Commercial Law, and The Great Recession of 2008. He was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Wig and Robe. Austin served as a Student Works Editor for the South Carolina Law Review. He simultaneously earned his Bachelor’s degrees in both Biology and Business Administration, cum laude, from the College of Charleston in 2012.

Prior to joining SMITH | ROBINSON, Austin worked for the South Carolina Supreme Court as a law clerk to the Honorable George C. James, Jr. Prior to his clerkship, he worked as a Staff Attorney for the South Carolina Court of Appeals. Austin also worked as a law clerk at the University of South Carolina Office of Technology Commercialization.
