Atkinson and Reed become Members of SMITH | ROBINSON law firm

SMITH | ROBINSON is pleased to announce that attorneys Alex Atkinson and Austin Reed have been named Members of the firm.
Atkinson practices in the firm’s Sumter office, where his work focuses on litigation, medical malpractice defense, and Tort Claims Act matters. Since joining SMITH | ROBINSON in 2019, he has built a practice representing clients across a broad range of complex litigation.
Before joining the firm, he served as law clerk to the Honorable R. Ferrell Cothran, chief administrative judge for the Third Judicial Circuit. Atkinson is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the Sumter County Bar.
Reed practices in the firm’s Columbia office, concentrating on appellate practice, commercial litigation, medical malpractice defense, and Tort Claims Act litigation.
Prior to joining SMITH | ROBINSON, Reed served as a law clerk to the Honorable George C. James Jr. of the South Carolina Supreme Court. He is admitted to practice before the South Carolina Bar, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
