Midlands law firm joins SMITH|ROBINSON

SMITH|ROBINSON law firm of Columbia, Sumter and Camden is pleased to announce that D’Alberto, Graham & Grimsley of West Columbia is joining the SMITH|ROBINSON team.

The five attorneys of DGG joined the SMITH|ROBINSON Columbia office effective Sept. 1. Michael Graham and Ben Grimsley will become members of the new, expanded SMITH | ROBINSON, which now has 24 attorneys in its three offices.

“Our new colleagues will bring to our growing firm a transactional team that will allow us to better serve our existing and new clients, particularly in the areas of commercial real estate and creditor rights,” said Jon Robinson, managing member of SMITH | ROBINSON. “The incoming attorneys and professional staff bring decades of experience that has been hallmarked by their impeccable character and integrity.”

Both firms see the combination as a good match. “For both sides, it’s a great cultural fit, in terms of the way we serve our clients,” said Ben Grimsley. “We’re all very client focused, very hands-on.”

His partner Michael Graham agrees. “We are delighted to be joining such a professional group of attorneys and look forward to expanding our ability to serve our clients,” he said. “The expanded ability to not only assist corporate and business clients involved in litigation, development, and governance matters, but also now with commercial real estate and acquisition and merger transactions, will benefit both firms’ clients”.

What the former DGG team gains is that they are joining a firm of particularly strong litigators, according to Grimsley.

SMITH | ROBINSON is itself the result of a merger between two South Carolina law firms rich in history and public service – Lee Erter Wilson Holler & Smith, LLC, of Sumter, and DuBose Robinson Morgan, PC, of Camden, which combined forces in 2019.

DGG describes itself as consisting of attorneys, advisors, and strategists who are “passionate about serving and uplifting others, calling forth their best and highest goals” to empower people and businesses to succeed.
