Attorneys Murrell Smith and Jonathan Robinson selected to the 2021 edition of “Best Lawyers in America”

Smith Robinson Holler DuBose and Morgan, LLC, is pleased to announce that attorneys G. Murrell Smith, Jr. and Jonathan M. Robinson have been selected to the 2021 edition of Best Lawyers in America®. Mr. Smith was selected for his work in Commercial Litigation. Mr. Robinson was selected for his work in Commercial Litigation and Insurance Litigation.

Mr. Smith is a co-founder of the firm, practicing in the Firm’s Sumter office. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Wofford College in 1990. After earning his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1993, Mr. Smith began practicing law in his hometown of Sumter. In 2000, Mr. Smith was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives, serving District 67. He began his political career as a member of the House Judiciary Committee rising to first vice chairman.

In 2009, he moved to the House Ways and Means Committee and was Chairman of the Health and Human Services Subcommittee beginning in 2012. On December 5, 2018, Mr. Smith was elected as the Chairman of the South Carolina House Ways and Means Committee. Mr. Smith also serves as the Chairman of the House Ethics Committee and on the South Carolina Judicial Merit Selection Commission.

Mr. Robinson is also a co-founder of the firm, practicing in the Firm’s Columbia office. He received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Carolina in 1997 and his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2000. Mr. Robinson is an active member of the community. He has served as president of the Kershaw County Bar Association and Chair of the South Carolina Commission on National and Community Service. Mr. Robinson is currently a member of the South Carolina Insurance Fraud Investigators Association, American Board of Trial Advocates, Kershaw County and Richland County Bar Associations, and the South Carolina Bar.
