SMITH | ROBINSON is pleased to welcome attorney Daniel C. Plyler to the Firm. Daniel joins the Columbia office, focusing his practice in a wide variety of civil litigation including insurance defense, civil rights litigation, medical malpractice defense, and governmental liability defense.

A native of Aiken, South Carolina, Mr. Plyler graduated from the University of South Carolina Honors College in 2002, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree, with Honors, in Marine Science. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School Of Law in 2005. Prior to joining SMITH | ROBINSON, Mr. Plyler practiced at another South Carolina law firm.

In addition to his active litigation practice, Mr. Plyler has been invited to speak to various groups regarding recent issues in the law as it relates to potential liability, to include the South Carolina Insurance Reserve Fund, the South Carolina Jail Administrators Association, the South Carolina Association of Counties, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Association. Mr. Plyler also serves on the South Carolina Bar’s Practice and Procedures Committee, as well as the Executive Board for Young Life Downtown Columbia.
