G. Murrell Smith, Jr., Jonathan M. Robinson, and partners announce the formation of their new law firm

G. Murrell Smith, Jr., and Jonathan M. Robinson announce the formation of their new law firm, Smith Robinson Holler DuBose and Morgan, LLC, which opened its office in 2019. The Firm, which operates three offices across the Midlands in Columbia, Sumter, and Camden, operates under the trade name SMITH | ROBINSON. The newly formed firm is actively interviewing candidates for litigation associate attorneys and paralegals with litigation experience.

Commenting on the formation of their new Firm, Mr. Robinson said, “In the few months that our Firm has been open, we have experienced unprecedented growth and success. Our Firm will continue the long-standing commitment to excellence of its predecessor firms as it expands its legal services throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. Our commitment to providing the highest quality legal services to our clients has, and continues to be, our number one priority.”

An accomplished litigation attorney and a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, Mr. Smith has 27 years of experience. His law practice includes civil litigation, medical malpractice defense, governmental law, legal malpractice defense, insurance defense, and more. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wofford College. In 2000, Mr. Smith was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives, serving District 67. In 2018, Mr. Smith was elected as the Chairman of the South Carolina House Ways and Means Committee.

As SMITH | ROBINSON’s managing partner, Mr. Robinson is responsible for leading the Firm, executing its client retention and growth strategies, and providing managerial oversight for internal operations of the offices in Columbia, Sumter, and Camden. Mr. Robinson leads an active law practice that focuses on civil litigation, civil appeals, insurance defense, governmental law, medical malpractice defense, and more. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Carolina.
